Create a Material Movement Rule

Create a Material Movement Rule Graphically

  1. In the Setup Schedule > Material Flow > Movement tab, in the Modes pane, select Material Movement mode.
  2. The pointer now has the movement icon below the cross-hairs.

  3. Click the source location and drag to the destination location.
  4. A material movement arrow follows the path of the pointer as you drag on the 2D Canvas, and is maintained when you create the movement rule. A new row is added to the Material Movement data grid.

  5. If you want to assign a ratio or priority, particular material classes, a date or event (with or without delay) after which the rule becomes effective, or a haulage route for the material movement, enter details in the appropriate columns in the Material movement data grid.

Create a Material Movement Rule in the Material Movement Data Grid

  1. In the Setup Schedule > Material Flow > Movement tab, in the Material movement data grid, click Insert.
  2. In the Sources column, select the locations that the material is moving from.
  3. In the Material Classes column, select the material classes for the material that is being moved from the source location or locations.
  4. Material classes that exist in the source location but are not specified in the Material Classes column are not moved to the destination location.

  5. In the Destination column, select the location that the material is moving to.
  6. If the Destination is a stockpile and the Sources are being moved to more than one stockpile, in the Ratio/Priority column, type the ratio of the source material that will move to the destination.
  7. Tip: You can also use a value of 0 in the Ratio/Priority column to create a rule that stops sending material to a location. To specify a material movement that occurs between two dates or events, add one row to the data grid to start the material movement, and another row that includes the same source and destination information but the end date and a value of 0 for the Ratio/Priority to stop the material movement.

  8. If the Destination is a fill location and the Sources are being moved to more than one fill location, in the Ratio/Priority column, type the priority of the fill location.
  9. The material is moved to the fill location with the lowest priority number that has blocks available.

  10. In the Date/event column, select the date or event on which the material movement rule is applied.
  11. In the Delay column, type a value for the number of days that must elapse, after the date or event selected, before the material movement rule is applied.
  12. In the Route column, select the haulage route or routes between the source and destination locations.
  13. If Show or hide comments is selected on, in the Comments column, type a comment about the material movement rule.
